Quiet Time of Reflection

 

The past two days have been a walk down Memory Lane as boxes and albums of pictures were pulled out and scattered onto the kitchen table and dug through as we prepared the slideshow for PawPaw's funeral on Saturday.

There have been many spare moments in the quiet of today for simple cuddling and walking down Memory Lane. 

It's been a day of remembering the "wonder years" of loving, growing, and being part of the Gibson family at large.

[ETA: Some friends visiting us this afternoon let us know the slideshow was at the funeral site.  It takes awhile to load but they did such an excellent job! Typical PawPaw, there are lots of photos of him holding the babies (including our five).  He loved babies and was known far and wide for his devotion to the littlest members of society. We often called him the "Official Diaper Changer" in the family.]

I wanted to share this picture (taken last year's birthday party---below) with everyone. If you click on it to enlarge you will see the loving expression on PawPaw's face that always greeted his four children and his fourteen grandchildren and his ten great-grandchildren.  Even in the throngs of Alzheimer's, his eyes still searched out the children and they responded as lovingly to him as he always did to them.  He will be deeply, lovingly missed.
