I thought, for your Sunday pleasure, I'd give you a little tour of the many whimsical baskets which fill my house and meet our every need.
These delightful secretary baskets w/ their candy-stripes sit in the office corner of my bedroom. Nothing is in them...yet...because, once I start to fill them they will fill too quickly. I don't want to clutter my new area but want their usage to have meaningful intent and purpose.
One of the book baskets in my bedroom, recently cleaned out...for now.
A basket given to me by a friend one long-ago Christmas and presented to me filled w/ homemade goodies. I use it in the laundry room now for unmatchable socks.
One of our book baskets in the sitting room. Behind it is one of our school wicker baskets. Each child has one.
Picnic basket which has seen many outdoor walks and treats. So many that the lid is no longer attached. We keep it in the corner, along w/ the ever present basketball. The basket on top is an old flower basket; I suspect the flower died. It now holds a colorful floral arrangement of sidewalk chalk.
Chelsea's school basket and binders under the window seat.
Annie's school basket and multiple binders holding her Alphabet Path, some History Trails, and Mathemathical Gnomes & Gnumbers
My spice baskets found inside my pantry. I didn't even take the linens off the baskets to wash and tidy for this picture. They are spickled w/ spice dust and that's okay.
We even keep our crayons and markers in our older, more seasoned baskets.
This basket leaves me bittersweet. It use to house the numerous bathtub toys, all those little mermaid dolls and plastic fish and rubber dolphins and old teacups and teapots.
I just can't talk about it. <sob>
For a brief while it held tiolet paper rolls...an idea I got from a friend who has the shabby chic deco downpat.
My oldest daughter removed all the tiolet paper rolls and filled it with toiletry items fit for a queen. Queen Kayleigh!
This is a precious button basket once owned by my mother-in-law. Chelsea has claimed ownership of it.
Our pharmaceutical basket sits on top of our refrigerator.
****
Stop by again on Monday and I'll show you the baskets in the girls' rooms.
I only discovered just how useful baskets are. Love the idea of an odd sock basket!

Oh I love the basket tour. I can relate to the description of the tub toys now gone. My little dd8 though still asks for a cup, a doll or a mermaid now and again for bath play. It makes me smile. Looking forward to Monday's basket post. I've been thinking about getting that CHC All Through the Year or some such thing to do a liturgical year study, right now we are finishing St. Patrick's Summer. I already have another book by that author something about the Lord's Life for Children. What are your thoughts should I invest in the CHC book or continue to use living lit and maybe try and put together liturgical year stuff myself. I have so many resources.

Oh, how I love baskets! Thanks for posting these pictures, Cay. I am inspired to organize my house using baskets instead of my old, ugly buckets :-)
