For Today I'm Following my own Cajun Cottage version of the Simple Woman's Daybook
Outside my window. . . calm, gray, cleansed
I am thinking. . . about taxes and the economy. Dreary, yes?
I am thankful for. . . grandparents who come to the rescue.
From the schoolroom. . .
- the girls and I are saddling up and getting back on the colonial/pioneer wagon this week with our lapbook that got left in the dust during the Christmas holidays
- make a money lapbook
- read Warm as Wool and create a lapbook
- continue math with Teaching Textbooks
From the kitchen. . . a line-up of cough and cold medicines, cough drops, homeopathic remedies, chicken noodle soup, and frozen strawberries in glasses of Sprite
I am wearing. . . blue jeans, blue t-shirt with a garden scene on front, barefeet (goodness! same thing I was wearing for my last daybook entry!)
I am creating. . . lists! to-do lists! shopping lists! project lists! reading lists! prayer lists! the lists go on...
I am going. . . no where. I have a sick child and am staying home.
I am reading. . .I'm obsessed with my Sonlight catalog at the moment.
I am (still) hoping. . .to get some serious writing projects done this year. Please pray for these and me.
I am hearing. . .you don't want to know.
I am praying...that this cold bug acts like a responsible American citizen and takes a bailout plan real soon.
Observing the Liturgical Calendar: Candlemas Day: a day for purification and presentation and procession and blessings and candles.
Around the house. . . sick cold germs here...be glad you can visit through a buffer-zone
One of my favorite things. . . a pretty little cousin showing up at our door and extending an equally pretty invitation for us to attend her Valentine Day birthday party! I cannot say how this brightened my day because I do love February. I always think of red hearts, candy, sparkles, Dove chocolate, cotton-candy snow, and roses! Despite our sicknesses, if there is a Valentine party and birthday party on the horizon it makes the whole month beautiful!
A few plans for the rest of the week. . . Still avoiding looking at my planner for the week. Sometimes taking it day by day is a good thing.
Here is picture thought I am sharing. . .Chelsea rocking her sister's godchild.
