The garden my family contemplated last spring?
The one we didn't do last summer?
Well, my brother-in-law no longer works out-of-town and the economy is in a sorry state of decline.
So we're attempting to muster up that Little Red Hen within all of us and explore the possibilities of what one acre of land can do. Perhaps even start a Hobby Farm like my other brother-in-law did.

Us too... we had a "garden" last year but the Coastal Bermuda took over rather quickly. We had the best luck just putting lots of grape tomatoes around the house...

We miss having a garden, but after years of the deer eating plants before fruit even set, we gave up. Our new location has even more deer. Hubby jokes that they are the 'pets' as we often have 5 to a dozen in the yard most days. Good luck growing lots of yummy vegetables.
Also, I've given you an award on my blog:

Now I'm off for some warm tea as Maryland is NOT as mild as Louisiana. The boys love the snow, but I'm missing Mardi Gras parades and king cake right now (grew up in Slidell.)

Beautiful garden, Cay! I love our little backyard garden and we've been eating fresh lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, and parsley out of it for several weeks now.

You can do it! Especially with all the awesome help you will get from the kiddos. You can plan potatoes and peas and onions right now... just to name a few. :-)

Alice,
We've planted potatoes and bush beans and onions and carrots so far.
