Outside my window. . . the sun is shining on green grass and bare-naked trees
I am thinking. . . about new year resolutions and fresh notebooks to open
I am thankful for. . . sleeping children
From the schoolroom. . . the schoolroom bell is idle this week
From the kitchen. . . (Lunch) take-out Chinese food
(Supper) a recipe my husband just forwarded me from work and one they say is as excellent as Taco Soup:
****
WHITE BEAN AND CHICKEN CHILI
6 CHICKEN BRESTS
1 CUP CHOPPED ONIONS
CLOVE CRUSHED GARLIC
¼ CUP BUTTER
2 CUPS WATER
1 CAN CHICKEN BROTH
3 CANS GREAT NORTHERN BEANS
2 CANS PINTO BEANS
1 CAN ROTEL TOMATOES
1 CAN GREEN CHILES
1 TABLESPOON CILANTRO
1 TABLESPOON BASIL
1 TEASPOON CRUSHED RED PEPPERS
SAUTE ONIONS, GARLIC, AND BUTTER. ADD CHICKEN. ADD TO REST. COOK FOR 1 HOUR.
SERVE WITH A SPOON OF SOUR CREAM AND TOP WITH CHEESE.

I am wearing. . . jeans, green long-sleeved top, sneakers
I am creating. . . just this Daybook entry, nothing extravagant but a piece of me and my cottage I love to share
I am going. . . are you kidding?! I'm very glad to be home today
I am reading. . . Knit Together: Discover God's Pattern for Your Life by Debbie Mcomber
I am hoping. . . Annie will wake up refreshed and rested after her dental ordeal this morning
I am hearing. . .peaceful quiet
I am loving...my Daybook entries (they make Monday mornings a little more approachable)
Around the house. . .most of my children are away (two at work, one at the cousin's for the week), one is asleep after a sedated trip to the dentist, and one is bored. It's quiet!
One of my favorite things. . . Motrin and Tylenol pain reliever
A few plans for the rest of the week. . . New Year's Eve party at Annie's godfather's, seeing and exchanging presents with out-of-town cousins, and hanging on to the last remnants of our unplanned holidays
I am praying for...soldiers protecting our home and our freedom
Here is picture thought I am sharing...as much as I hate (and I truly despise) doctor visits and dental appointments, I really do love the homecoming wrapped in blankets and pillows, when I know that "God's in His Heaven, All's Right with the World"
Oh the sweet little thing. Theres nothing like a child that is not feeling well to bring out all the mother instincts in us, is there?
I got away from the daybook thing but I think I need to pic it up again. I loved doing it the couple of times that I did!

The chili recipe looks fabulous! Can't wait to try it. Hope Annie feels better.
