...you find this photo in a friend's profile and you're not shocked.
Because I'm a parole officer of teenagers cool mom, I was recently censoring enjoying my son's Facebook profile and came across this photo by one of our homeschooling friends.
Anyway, I thought it was totally cool and so Louisiana-like, that I had to share it.
Carrie, if you're stopping by for a visit, yes, it's Jacob's. Was this photo taken at your camp? Were they gator hunting or did the gator just get snagged? What did y'all do with him? Tell Jacob to bring the photo to the next Louisiana History class and share the story.
Cay, I nearly freaked at the picture of the snake in your kitchen window, and now this!!! When dh was job hunting, I said "no" to California and Florida--I'm adding Louisiana to my list. I would be terrified to go utside:~)) You are so brave!

Yes, and this would be one of the reasons LA and FL are always left off our list of desired future military assignments. My sisters, in NO say they've not "evah had a gatah" around their homes, but I think it's just part of their conspiracy to get me there.. ;-)

I'm glad someone else spends time "enjoying" their teen kids' Facebook like that. I always get the rolled eyes, and the comments that suggest I'm the only parent on the planet who thinks of doing such monstrous things.

Barry,
We had a parole officer visit our KC Council meeting one year and he told us that good parents "do" strange things like this. Matter of fact, he told the teenagers that he was giving their parents permission to do those things.
The trust issue?
No problem in this household. The children know that I censor---er, patrol---sorry, I meant "enjoy"---their Internet doings. And I am very open about any concerns I notice. We talk and discuss issues.
It's part of my job and, anyway, a parole officer gave me permission.
