The Hillary Clintons of the world will surely snob me and walk away with their briefcases busily bumping against their suffrage liberalism.
"Poor little thing," they will think and say as they sniff a self-serving judgement on a woman who has made it her choice to stay home and serve her family. And who is, at this very moment, feeling very liberated and empowered.
Because I know how to roll-up my sleeves and clear-out cabinets and clean-off countertops!
Not to mention the slow cooker potpourrizing my kitchen with the autumny scent of beef stew du jour.
Great job! I'm jealous... you should see how packed my counters are at the moment...

How did you do that? I can't keep the piles off!
It looks homey and inviting and very pretty.

Well, to be honest, that spot next to the microwave where the cookbook is now, is my biggest "catch-all" spot. My countertop and my tables are horrible, horrible, horrible.
The beginning of my clean-up project began as I was mopping the floors which were horrible, horrible, horrible.
Kayleigh use to do all this. She's too busy with college and work now so I took to mopping and, once I get started, I can't seem to stop. I work from the ground up...literally.
Just don't ask to see my bedroom at the moment. But that is soon to be remedied as well. I have three new bookshelves and once Garrett gets them all up I'll be able to organize my books and get the "piles" off my bedroom floor...none of which, let me say, came from the kitchen countertops. I did "not" transfer. Ha! I took care of those papers as I went.
But my glory is short-lived, I know. Starting with tomorrow's mail, the paper clutter will begin to take over...again. :(

Earlier today, as I sat in soap suds scrubbing the bathtub (it was taking too much elbow grease to stay crouching so I simply sat down), I reflected briefly about how I have chosen to be at home. I may not be using my training and practice as an attorney, but let me tell you, I am VERY proud of that shining tub. I am so blessed to be in a position to stay at home. And I, too, have dinner in the slow cooker. Life is good.

Feels good doesn't it?
I'm a working mom (and love my job!), but nothing brings me more pride and fulfilment a than making a good home for my family.
