Praying for Matthew Karol

Prayer During Hurricane Season

  • Prayer for Hurricane Season
O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed your order and returned to its former quietude; you are still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control. The Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season, we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with the passing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our Beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your Son in our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem where a storm-less eternity awaits us. Amen. Originally dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Audrey in 1957. - Fr. Al Volpe, Cameron Parish, LA

Prayer to End Abortion

  • Prayer to End Abortion
Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life, And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters. I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion, Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death by the Resurrection of Your Son. I am ready to do my part in ending abortion. Today I commit myself Never to be silent, Never to be passive, Never to be forgetful of the unborn. I commit myself to be active in the pro-life movement, And never to stop defending life Until all my brothers and sisters are protected, And our nation once again becomes A nation with liberty and justice Not just for some, but for all, Through Christ our Lord. Amen!

Oh, we are so hungry right now for a crawfish boil! It should only take us 22 hours to get there...

Jacinta

did you bring home any of those sacks of crawfish? matthew mentioned to me by email that mr. mark was cooking for him sunday????? ;D

Theresa

Oh, what fun!!! Count me in when you take on that crawfish catching job!

andrea

Oh that looks like so much fun! I had never heard of the nutria until I lived in Houston - the first time I saw one I was a little afraid!
There were so many people from Louisiana living in Houston and we enjoyed many crawfish boils! Nothing like playing with your food!!!! ;-)

Andrea

It looks like you all had a great time. I also homeschool my children. We are new to the area and I'm not sure how to get in touch with the group. I'd like to participate in the activities with a homeschool group.

Thanks for taking us along on your field trip! The pictures are just wonderful!

Cay

Andrea,
What area are you in? We have a great hsing group.

Jacinta, don't think Garrett didn't think of bringing home a sack of crawfish. Matter of fact, at one point he said "Mom, you get the car. I'll grab a bag and let's run." LOL

We were in a rental car and I told him that would stink to high heaven!!!

And, yeah, Kayleigh had to call Matthew last night for college info. Mark suppose to call y'all over too. But, no crawfish. He's cooking chicken. :) Us ladies will be home that afternoon in time to join you for supper. :)

See ya tonight.

Andrea

We're in South Lake Ch.
I have a 4 mth old boy and 4 girls- 12 yr., 10 yr., 5 yr. and 3 yr. olds.
You can write to me at my email address if you want.

Andrea

Its me again. I realized that you may not have my email. I'll try to get in contact with the h'schooling group another way. I know its probably not a good idea to put a bunch of personal info into a public blog.
Thanks!

Jennifer

Terrific trip, Cay! I'm hungry now...

Deb

Oh, how much fun! We took our own unique field trip today. You'll have to come by to see some of the clams and baby shrimp we found--in our neck of the woods.

Mary M

I want to come down there and do this field trip!!!
