Have you seen God lately? Have you looked for Him at unexpected times and in unlikely places?
It'll surprise you some of the places He turns up. Just this morning I was fixing to take a load of videos, clothes, toys, and knick-knacks to Care-Help when He my son and his friend showed up and took it for me.
You can read my new column here: Finding God Among Us
I know lots of families are sick this time of year. You'll find a tasty pot of Chicken Vegetable Soup at the end of my column and I can garantee (from first-hand experience) that it is a great dish for sickies and wellies during the month of February. I cooked a huge pot at lunchtime one day and it was gone before nightfall. It also freezes well.
This weekend at the camp Dad and I watched not 1, not 2, but 3 bluebirds flying around (2 males & 1 female). I'd not seen bluebirds in years! Dad said we may have a family of bluebirds this spring to enjoy. Reading your Finding God Among Us column reminded me of the bluebirds. Couldn't help but break out in song of Mr. Bluebird on my Shoulder.....Yippety Do Dah, Yippety Di Yah, what a wonderful feeling, what a wonderful day. He does send us reminders of His presence in this world each day...we just need to be aware of His wonders and gifts.

What a beautiful reflective piece Cay. I enjoyed it because we just returned from a visit with dear friends. We met their newest addition, only 3 months old and just so snuggly. We also marveled at the progress of their special needs child after a year apart from him. He is moving and playing and eating so much better than when we visited last year.
Our Father only gives GOOD gifts, and I was able to spend the weekend with two very special ones.
Love,
Kimberly

Hi Cay-- this was just beautiful and a great reminder... why do I always need to be reminded, though, is what I am asking myself these days?? Why can't I just walk in the truth you wrote about and keep my focus where it should be instead of getting caught up in the tyranny of the urgent and getting stressed and grumpy in the process??
Thanks also for the pot of chicken soup recipe-- I can't wait to give it a try with some homemade rolls!
