Last week I bumped my shin on the shopping buggy and limped all the way to the check-out counter trying to shake-off the pain. Then I waited fifteen hours minutes just to check out...and I grumbled.
Today I prayed for all those who couldn't leave their homes or drive to the grocery store because of illness or handicaps. I also prayed for those who couldn't wait in grocery lines because they didn't have the money to do so.

This past weekend, I grumbled as I flung picked-up the hundreds number of new birthday toys my daughter had scattered around the house.
Today I prayed for all those children who were not here to observe another birthday and for their parents who wished they were.
*****
Yesterday I grumbled over the cost and worry of finding and buying those last 5 Christmas gifts.
Today I prayed for all those families who would not have Christmas gifts under their tree. (If you don't believe this, go to the police station and ask to read the children's Christmas letters to Santa that find their way there. You will not see these heart-breaking letters in your local newspaper.)

The other day I kept a brake on my pedal foot and a mind-frame of self-control as I played nice while braking-stopping-braking-stopping through the surge of holiday traffic; though I grumbled.
Today I prayed for all those people who suffer road rage...the victims and those who seek counseling for lack of self-control.

The other night we all visited PawPaw at the nursing home for the annual Christmas party. The children grumbled they were hungry as hordes of residents and their families formed a food line ten blocks long. The music was too loud, the hall was too crowded, and PawPaw sat in his wheelchair totally out of touch with the season and with us. Not even the presence of Santa in the room evoked any reaction from him this year. Not even a chuckle. He dutifully ate what we fed him and retreated with a grumble.
Today I prayed for all those in nursing homes and all those whose minds have retreated into a dark corner of the stable.

And today I prayed for each and everyone of you. God bless you and your families. May you all have a beautiful, holy, joy-filled Christmas and may our Lord Jesus grace you with abundant blessings.
Beautiful Cay. Merry Christmas!
