I'm beginning to realize that Christmas parties exhaust me. Everything has been so rush, rush...do, do...
Today was a slower pace and it blissfully felt like a Christmas break.
...ice-skating with cousins...
...and Oma (only Oma doesn't skate)...
...and climbing trees at dusk.
And, sweetest of all, decorating the Gingerbread House...
...and licking fingers (notice the two thumbs in mouth)...
...and sprinkling sprinkles like snow just to see how messy we can be...
UPDATED CHRISTMAS TO-DO LIST:
Go Ice Skating TODAY with cousins (when you live in Louisiana and your town provides an ICE skating rink for the month of December, you must go !)Check- View Gingerbread House Exhibit (Plans set in stone for tomorrow)
Put together our Gingerbread House (we're late, late, late)Check- Should I or shouldn't I mail Christmas Cards this year????
Exchange gifts with brothers' familiesCheck- Buy
3(edited: make that 6) more gifts Edited: Make that 5 more gifts - Plan Christmas meal (Oldest daughter and Oma have made tentative plans)
- Shop for Christmas meal (Girls will have a Christmas breakfast of waffles at aunt's house while I do just this)
- Finish wrapping X amount of gifts
- Finish making cranberry/wax chip candles for godmothers
- Watch favorite Christmas movies
And now I understand why my children tell me I have inherited traits of Oma's OCD (don't worry---Oma will laugh---I promise you). Seems I have a tendency to OCD until my To-Do List is completely checked. At least I only do this once a year. : )
What beauties.....Merry Christmas!

You have beautiful children. It put a smile on my face to see the short sleeves and bare feet (in the tree). I wondered where the sunshine went...down south! Merry Chirstmas to you and your family!
