  • Prayer for Hurricane Season
    O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed your order and returned to its former quietude; you are still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control. The Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season, we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with the passing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our Beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your Son in our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem where a storm-less eternity awaits us.     Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life, And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters. I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion, Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death by the Resurrection of Your Son. I am ready to do my part in ending abortion. Today I commit myself Never to be silent, Never to be passive, Never to be forgetful of the unborn. No, of course I would never post a photo of my hard-working husband napping. Don't be silly.  It's the dog, the d.o.g., I want you to look at and observe. It's just, without the image of my napping, hard-working husband, it would just be another picture of our over-stuffed dog...which you can see at the bottom of last year's Christmas post.  And, anyway, tell me...wasn't your husband doing the same thing this afternoon?  : )

I agree. I believe all husbands were in that position in their recliners, sleeping, pets curled up lovingly next to them yesterday!

I notice a koala Webkinz in one of those pictures! All three of my kids are completely smitten with them!

All my middle daughter asked for this Christmas was Webkinz and Nancy Drew books. LOL

At least they cost less than bikes, playstations, and IPods. LOL
