Maureen Wittmann was the first homeschool author I read years ago when I began my investigation into the mysterious world of homeschooling. (I bet Maureen doesn't even know that.) A friend and I both ordered her newly released A Catholic Homeschool Treasury and read and discussed the book together over our decision whether to homeschool our boys. Maureen was an author and a veteran homeschool mother. I was a newbie and only had some articles published in magazines but certainly not a book! I was in awe of her. I watched for her articles in The Catholic Home Educator and lapped up all her wisdom.
We've come a long way since then. Somewhere along the way, I began to correspond with Maureen and a friendship took root. She contributed to my book Literature Alive! and gave all sorts of helpful advice and support. I finally stalked her got to meet her in real life while in Kansas this past summer. She's everything she shows herself to be online...and more. Always smiling and always a helpful word. I've been blessed by her friendship in more ways than one.
So I'm proud to help her announce the publication and release of her awesome news! and brand-new book For the Love of Literature .
I'm visiting her publisher's website today to take advantage of the prepublication sale...because it's too good to pass up. I know you'll want to do so too. The prepublication price for For the Love of Literature is $9.55, plus the 10% off entire order! Can't miss that kind of deal. To get your discount place your order and then enter the discount code: LOVELIT. This offer will be good until November 20th. And the book should be in your mailbox on December 1st. Treat yourself to an early Christmas present that will bless you with the gift of knowledge all year long.
I've actually seen a sneak preview of this book and I have no doubt it will prove to be a valuable tool for new homeschoolers, veteran homeschoolers, public school teachers, librarians, private school board members, your teacher-aunt, your neighbor with the 2-year-old and the new baby, your pregnant cousin, all parents who have a love for their children, and even the niece or nephew headed to college.
Maureen calls her book a "glorified booklist" but it is way more than that. She has done a job of extensive research in putting this book together so you and your children (no matter how or where they are educated) can enjoy the ripe benefits of continuing their education through the love of literature.
On behalf of all parents who devote their lives to educating their children for life, thank you, Maureen, for all you've done and all you continue to do for us!

Cay thank you so much for your kind words! I am really moved. I didn't know that ACHT was your first introduction to homeschooling.
I hope that we get some speaking gigs together again this year. I must admit that I felt cheated in KC. I wanted you all to myself, to sit together and sip tea and just chat away the hours. But, alas, your public needed you, and we both had jobs to do.
And, Cay, thank you for all you do for us homeschoolers!
