Today was a writer's dream come true.
I received five different packages.
The first two came this morning in the mail and contained a new copy of my own Christmas Mosaic and the book which will be revealed tomorrow as the Book-Walk selection someone reading this will win. (Hint: It's shown here in the picture.)
The last three packages came tonight via the big brown truck (ie: UPS) and was announced by my vicious harmless (well, they're harmless to us anyway) pets. They hate the UPS guy. I, on the otherhand, love him. One was a gracious package from Loyola Press with Christmas book giveaways for upcoming Book-Walks. I was delighted to see that two donated items were pictures books that are found in my new Christmas Mosaic booklist. Generous folks, those people are.
Another one of my packages was from CHC with Alice's lovely new book inside. I believe I have gushed about her book before.
The neat part for all of you (and for my family) is that these books won't be going on my bookshelves. (I'll have to get my own copies which might mean more bookshelves...sorry, honey.) You have a chance of seeing one of these books on your bookshelf. All you have to do is email me your name and mailing address when you see the notice for the next Book Walk.
Speaking of which...I'm announcing the next one tomorrow morning.
Oh, the last package? It was that car seat that I was hoping, praying, begging, sweating would come before the upcoming baby shower that I'm hosting. Whew! it's here! I can go to sleep peacefully tonight.
It's funny that your pets don't like the driver of the big brown truck while our dog loves him and his equals in trucks of other colors. Why? Well, most of our drivers carry puppy treats in their pockets, so the dog is as eager as we are to see what goodies have arrived. (He's so eager that he goes next door, where our landscaper neighbor gets almost daily deliveries, to greet the drivers who have "forgotten" to bring a treat to our house.)
I'm looking forward to your next Book Walk -- these are fun!

Lisa,
Doggie treats in the pockets. Now "that" is a great idea. :) I'll have to mention it to our delivery guy. LOL

We don't have pets to announce the UPS guy ... we have KIDS! And we all LOVE that man ... reminds me of the song from Music Man -- "oh ho, the Wells Fargo wagon in a comin' down the street ..."
Sensational packages ... always fun to receive books (especially when your name is on the cover or you've got a part in the book!).
Congrats! (and for the car seat coming on time too!)

Wow, I was practically foaming at the mouth just looking at the picture of all your new books. I always loved getting our new books in every year. I still love reading, looking, even smelling new books.
Then I read further on about the car seat & my excitement grew as yours must have when you received it. Especially since my first grandbaby will be laying, sitting in it!
Can't wait to start reading to my grandbaby. I have your Literature Alive but not the Catholic or Christmas Mosaic. Guess I better get those to prepare to read all the wonderful books out there to her? him?
Soon to be Mama

Ohhhhh the UPS man.... I adore him. And I always sing the Wells Fargo song from Music Man when I see the truck.
I am expecting him tomorrow for some books I ordered.
There is nothing like opening a box filled with brand new books. It is so very much like stepping off an airplane in another country. So exciting!
