This week I hosted the first Virtual Book-Walk. I really wasn't sure how it would go but it was FUN-tas-tical and was very well-received. I'm so glad. So glad you all enjoyed yourselves. : ) So glad I finally got to "meet" so many of you who visit my little blog.
I loved all the nice emails that skipped into my email box like eager children skipping around the numbers on a Cake Walk, because that's the whole concept.
Remember those Cake Walks at your church festival? That's where the idea of a Book-Walk comes from. It's a chance to feel like a kid again...and win a free prize.
But I cannot take credit for the idea. A librarian on a children's writer forum I'm on was hosting a book-walk for the teenagers at the next PTA meeting at their school. I thought it was a marvelously inventive idea and adopted it to fit a Virtual Book-Walk here on my blog.
A sweet idea, isn't it? (Pun intended.)
The Book-Walk was so much fun that I've decided to keep hosting it.
First I need a sweet little button. Does anyone know of a button-site I can peruse? One with cute graphics?
Next, if there are any writers out there wanting to donate a book for another Book-Walk, please email me.
Stay tuned. There will be more Book-Walks coming up...just in time for Christmas. : )
Hey Cay--Alice said she'll make you a cute button, just e-mail...she's been being crafty, not bloggy lately.
