Praying for Matthew Karol

Prayer During Hurricane Season

  • Prayer for Hurricane Season
O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed your order and returned to its former quietude; you are still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control. The Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season, we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with the passing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our Beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your Son in our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem where a storm-less eternity awaits us. Amen. Originally dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Audrey in 1957. - Fr. Al Volpe, Cameron Parish, LA

Prayer to End Abortion

  • Prayer to End Abortion
Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life, And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters. I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion, Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death by the Resurrection of Your Son. I am ready to do my part in ending abortion. Today I commit myself Never to be silent, Never to be passive, Never to be forgetful of the unborn. I commit myself to be active in the pro-life movement, And never to stop defending life Until all my brothers and sisters are protected, And our nation once again becomes A nation with liberty and justice Not just for some, but for all, Through Christ our Lord. Amen!

I was thinking the exact same thing about Alice!! I want to be able to draw so bad, I just can't stand it, but, to be able to draw like Alice does would be a dream come true!
I also felt the same way about you, Cay. It was like we were long lost friends. I am so glad to have been able to meet all of you and spend the little time that I could.
Hopefully, I will see more of Colleen soon!! Saturday was a beautiful day!

Ok, Cay. "Refined"?? Chip is going to be cracking up with that one! Lol!! Seriously, can I just *borrow* your TypePad password for a sec... just need to edit a couple of lines... ;-)

It was really wonderful meeting Marcie and Phoebe, too! And you are spot-on about Colleen... she IS amazing!!

Aw, shoot, and I was working on humility today!!!! Just joking, I am flattered and humbled by your kind descriptions. I was honored and all too thrilled to spend the weekend in your company...it was well worth the effort.

Thanks so much for sharing this with us Cay! I want to be like Alice too! And Colleen...I'd love to spend a sweaty day in the South with such sweet ladies (you included). What a wonderful, wonderful time you all had!

I am new to homeschooling and to blogging. I just have to say that I have really enjoyed reading about all of these wonderful ladies and hope to make some friends here as well. Thank you for indirectly introducing me.

Hi -
I found you through MyBlogLog...
I loved reading about how much fun you had!
3 of our children, my daughters, and I all blog (they are still at home), and we have all met friends through blogging and had the privilege of meeting them IRL, too. What a blessing and a privilege.
Thanks for sharing.
Blessings

Cay,

Your family is so special. Alice and I had an awesome time meeting all of you. The weekend not only gave everybody a chance to exchange homeschool ideas, it gave us a chance to put names with all the faces and really get to know one another.

I was really impressed by your family. Talking with you all just threw our camping bug into overdrive. Alice couldn't stop talking about all the great places your husband told her about. She is determined to camp every weekend this Fall and Spring. We love you guys!!
