What do you do when your plate is pretty full and you don't know what to stir first?
And you have a conference coming up which you'll be giving a talk entitled Feasting with Literature which consists of an apron, a big cooking pot, a bunch of picture books with recipes in them, and a Rachael Ray/Paul Deen persona?
And you just saw the movie Ratatouille and all you can think of is eating and going to Paris and cooking and making the peasant dish Ratatouille?
What do you do?
You dig out lots of cookbooks from your pantry and jot down a tentative menu for the next week or two:
Monday
- Shepherd's Pie
- Cantaloupe
Tuesday
Wednesday
- New Meat Loaf Recipe
- Smothered Potatoes and Onion
Thursday
- Frito Pie
Friday
- Shrimp Stew
- Focaccia Bread
- Italian Spiced Chicken Sauteed with Bell Pepper
- Tossed Salad
Sunday
- Baked Round Steak/Potatoes
- Ratatouille Dish
Did I mention that I have food on the brain?
Bell Pepper Casserole sounds intriguing! Wish I could hear your talk, Cay...
