My goodness, mantises never cease to amaze. I can't believe yours is eating a butterscotch chip! The oddest thing we've ever seen a mantis eat is a raisin.
Now that she has laid her egg case, she will die soon. The girls will need to brace themselves, but imagine all the new life in the spring!
Be sure to put the egg case in a cool place, or it may hatch in the house ahead of schedule.
