  • Prayer for Hurricane Season
    O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed your order and returned to its former quietude; you are still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control. The Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season, we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with the passing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our Beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your Son in our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem where a storm-less eternity awaits us.     Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life, And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters. I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion, Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death by the Resurrection of Your Son. I am ready to do my part in ending abortion. Today I commit myself Never to be silent, Never to be passive, Never to be forgetful of the unborn. It's Inevitable

DeccalI knew it would happen sooner or later.  It always does.  The inevitable jottings and memos onthe clean slate of December.

Every year a part of me hopes and prays that my calendar will remain unclaimed until after Thanksgiving.  Give me a moment to be thankful before filling up my days with a list of 'to-dos'.

But each year it is inevitable...

My dear hubby called this morning with the first Christmas engagement to pen into December.

Company Party...December 9th...1-4 PM.

It has officially begun.

It's inevitable.

Cay, I never look forward to my dh's company party. It's one of those things I feel obligated to attend (except for one year when I skipped it), but it's not very enjoyable. Most of the other things that I fill up my calendar with are actually fun. It can be overwhelming to think of the busyness and the clutter of new toys, but there are so many wonderful things about this season too. I hope you have wonderful month of December!

I feel the same way. I want to take it slowly and hope not to get overwhelmed, but it just never happens. I actually went out to buy stocking stuffers and gift wrap today just to get it over with.
