I promised a couple of you some online visuals of the Montessori items in our Montessori cabinet. I wish I had time to elaborate but for now I only have these photos taken in preparation of last school year. We still have all these items in the Montessori cabinet (or spread around the house) and we take them out in spurts. I'll post these pictures and I invite anyone with questions to ask away.
Math Center
Science Center
Health Center---body parts (taken from a plastic see-thru body model that broke) compared to labeled sheets.
Geometry---tangrams and puzzle shapes
ABC Pre-School Center---magnetic ABC's, doodle board, slate and chalk, tape recorder and cassettes, letters
Another view of ABC Pre-School
Remember my my "feeling bummed" post just last month?
I needn't have fretted. DQ dusted, straightened, took stock, supplied, and prepared this area all by herself for her little sister.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd shelves---
Catholic Mosaic books located on second shelf, Good Shepherd supplies boxed on the two bottom shelves.
Mosaic Books
Altar
Thanks so much for the visuals --- Looks like loads of learning fun!!!

Thanks for the pictures Cay. You said to ask away, so what did you use to make your altar? And where did you get the puzzles in the math center?

Cheryl,
The puzzles are Doug and Melissa board products. Here's their website
http://www.melissaanddoug.com/
I Love all their products. :)
The altar is just a two-tier bookshelf from the dollar store. The holy water bottles are from Michael's craft shop embellished with crosses the girls glued on.
The altar cloth and altar set I bought from Our Father's House.
The CGS albums by Moira Farrell are on the second shelf hidden under the cloth for easy access and so they don't get misplaced.
The flowers look fake but they were "plucked" from my sister-in-law's garden. Pretty, huh? :)

Btw, the Mosaic books are now in liturgical order. LOL

It's a good thing you have a blog Cay, so I can learn something :) I love the "body parts"! Really, that is a great idea. I need to get Mark's mini-Montesorri centers ready for this year (esp. those felts) and you've inspired me. Thank you!
Blessings,
Denise

Denise,
Mark's?!?!
You don't mean "baby Mark", do you? As in, the baby you just had yesterday?
Gosh, I feel old.

Your learning centers are wonderful. I pray and hope my classroom(s) can look that good.

Neat stuff!
I just need to get rid of all my "clutter" and get some neat stuff like that for Sam and Jack. :D

Wow that is SO cool! I love it all. :) My daughter is 5 and started kindergarten this year. She attended a Montessori preschool last year, before we moved. I admit to missing that school so very much! We are homeschooling and I wanted to have Montessori things too - these are great ideas, thanks for sharing! :)
