Ever since reading Margaret Mitchell's classic Gone with the Wind, I have loved the state of Georgia. I remember flying into Georgia back when I was a teenager and, as the plane landed at the airport in Atlanta, I could see the red clay earth from my window seat.
To me, Georgia suggests peaches with skin as warm and plush as a new pad of reddish-orange cosmetic blush, cotton fields dotted with marshmallows amidst green tea leaves, mint jubilees in sparkling glasses of clicking crushed ice, and sugar-white plantation homes as lovely and elegant as a wedding cake. Georgia also suggests southern hospitality as warm as the sun that shines on those peaches, cotton fields, and plantation homes.
I'm looking forward to traveling to Georgia later this month for the Catholic Family Conference. A Half Day Homeschool Track is offered on Friday and a full day for Building the Domestic Church, Cultivating Catholic Families will be presented on Saturday. If you're looking for uplifting talks, like-minded socializing, hands-on viewing of curricula, inspiration on building your domestic church, and ideas on cultivating a Catholic lifestyle; prepare to join us.
Please go to the website for more information about this exciting Catholic-Family-Centered Conference. I think the hospitality and warmth of the people in Georgia will warm our souls and expand our hearts.
