The answer to the 4th Mystery Literature Location seemed to have stumped everyone except Jenn.
The photo was an image of Rose Wilder Lane with her two pet dogs in her house in Dansbury, Connecticut.
Rose was the daughter and only surviving child of Laura Ingalls Wilder, famous author of the Little House series. It is not widely known that Rose was a gifted writer in her own right and wrote several books and stories long before her mother ever took up a pen. Rose coached her mother in her writing. Rose was also a world traveler, a Vietnam war correspondent, and a Red Cross volunteer.
The other day, Pelican Publishing contacted me to negotiate a contract for my middle-grade reader on Rose Wilder Lane. So you all know what I'll be doing these summer months. I plan to write in the morning while the household sleeps and at night while the household sleeps. Afternoons will be reserved for trips to the park, movies, children's museum, water park at the aquatic center, etc.
It should work out incredibly well. I'm excited about this opportunity. The children are excited. My husband is excited. Tell your children to never stop plugging away at their dreams. Dreams do come true.
That is awesome Cay! Congratulations!!!
