Okay, so I wasn't aware of all the hoopla going on at the Sonlight Forums when I posted about their upcoming 2006 catalog yesterday. You've probably read about it somewheres already so I don't want to rehash anything. I debated all day about saying anything since I really didn't want to say anything and have long vacated the message board so I'm pretty much in the dark about what's going on. I vaguely remember getting their BEAM email and also vaguely remembering deleting the same as I didn't have time to read it.
What made me pop over to Sonlight yesterday was curiosity about their new catalog and, I guess, my sixth sense. ; )
I'm just being a vocal blog(head) right now.
Anyway, further discussion concerning using living literature through Sonlight books (which aren't exactly nor realistically Sonlight books since Sonlight did not (does not) publish them and the books can be easily ordered through Amazon.com or found at your local public library for free) can continue at this new message board Sonlight Refugees, the wonderful SL-Catholic Yahoo eloop, or the ever-insightful Literature Alive! eloop ...whichever book shoppe you care to drop by, have a cup of joe, and visit for awhile.
My only outtake into this predicament is that literature is FREE! Literature is always a FREE education. Don't let one literature curriculum giant get you down and out. The beauty of literature is found in the book and the child on your lap...not on Sonlight's message boards.
But...since we can all stand to be inspired...let's not forget that the Five in a Row message boards are alive and well and bountiful and growing as well as the newer 4 Real Learning literature board of which I am Alice's humble assistant maiden. It is all FREE! So is your library.
