We went from a week like this to being completed hunkered down inside the house due to this.
Believe it or not, I arrived home last night without a clue that there was anything brewing in the Gulf, until my husband phoned me. Ah, well, I thought, it's only a Tropical Storm and it isn't headed our way. At last call, before we went to bed, the storm had turned more northward and schools were canceled and soccer practices had been rained-out.
I went to bed thinking what a great mom I was to have survived the week and really grateful to God for the day of rest he was granting me.
I slept until 8:00 AM this morning. It is now 10:00 AM and my oldest daughter is still in bed. We're all still in our pjs, except for Garrett who had to get my son's dog back into his kennel and who picked up broken branches that were lying in the driveway. Oh, and he retrieved the mail for me. Those mailmen are true to their motto: "Through rain, hail, sleet, or snow...or a hurricane that blows."
So what are we doing today?
Nothing. Nothing at all. Just watching a Hurricane blow through.

I've been thinking about you, Cay. I too, turned on tv last night and saw Humberto....and thought, "Humberto Who??? Where did he come from???" I'm guessing my Stephen is using his umbrella today in Lafayette.

I hadn't heard anything about the hurricane, either, until Mark briefly turned on the TV to check something and I, in another room, overheard bits and pieces like "hit Beaumont hard" and "heading towards Louisiana," at which point I decided I'd heard enough to pray for your family.

I think that a hurricane sounds like an excellent reason to do nothing!
